The Pesticides Safety Directorate issued the following advice to those carrying out spraying. "Products that may harm bees will be labelled as 'harmful', 'dangerous', 'extremely dangerous' or 'high risk' to bees. During those times of the year when bees are at risk or when you intend to use a pesticide that may harm bees, you should inform the beekeepers identified in your environmental risk assessment or the local beekeepers' spray liaison officer 48 hours before you plan to use the pesticide. This will allow beekeepers to take the necessary precautions. You should also tell beekeepers if you change your plans."
