First Winter Loss 2017 – Honeybees Starved, Probably! #Beekeeping Basics – The Norfolk Honey Co.
It's a warm, late February day and the sun is shining but I discover some bad news in one of my apiaries. One of my colonies has died out over the past two – three weeks.
Initially it doesn't look like starvation as there is plenty of food in the hive but as I investigate further it become apparent that the cluster of bees appears to have become isolated from the food stores and has actually died out due to starvation.
